What is Bowen Therapy?

Bowen Therapy (or Technique) is a gentle, effective, lasting, healing treatment
for a wide range of problems and injuries that addresses every system in the body.

Unlike other "hands-on" therapies, Bowen Therapy does not use forceful manipulations. The practitioner is skilled in sensing "tissue tension" enabling them to perform specific techniques to assist recovery.

A pattern of powerful, but gentle moves with the fingers or thumbs in specific locations over muscle and connective tissue send neurological impulses to the brain, accessing the body’s natural feedback system which relaxes muscle and therefore joints, settling down an over reactive nervous system and stimulating nerves and muscles which are not working properly.

The body realigns. Bowen therapy improves posture, venous drainage and arterial blood flow, lymphatic drainage of toxins, and energy.

Because this Therapy is performed over the fascia (connective tissue), with specific moves, even the organs can be targeted for treatment. The body is capable of healing tremendous injuries and the Bowen Technique utilizes that ability.

There are 2-5 minute breaks in between each set of moves to allow the body to work, which enables two people to be treated at the same time. This treatment is very pleasant to receive, produces a greater sense of well being, relaxation and more freedom of movement.

Bookings

The treatment costs are:

  • New adult clients $80 for first treatment. Follow up appointments $75.
  • Simultaneous double adult appointments are $130.
  • Teens 13-16 years are $60 . Simultaneous double teen appointments are $110
  • Child 3-12 years $45. Simultaneous double child appointments are $80
  • Baby 0-2 years $30

Treatment times are available by appointment from 8am to 6.30 pm on weekdays and 8am to 2pm on Saturdays. My ground floor rooms have parking. Eftpos is available (sorry no credit cards).

Treatments take an hour and initially are done once every 5-10 days. Positive results are often achieved in 1-3 treatments. People may return for maintenance treatments if required.

Simultaneous double appointments may be booked for friends or family at a cheaper rate per person.
